Lisa Dare was recently appointed as the executive director of strategy and planning for The College Board, a not-for-profit membership association serving seven million students, 23,000 high schools, and 3,500 colleges through major programs and services. Dare previously served as the chief operating officer for the Division of Teaching and Learning for the New York City Department of Education. She has also served as the director of operations for both the Division of Teaching and Learning and the Office of Curriculum and Professional Development. During her Residency, Dare served on the Strategic Implementation team at the NYCDOE. Prior to joining the Residency, Dare started an online education company, StudentAcademy.com, which provided homework help in the math and science content areas. She also worked as a financial planner at American Express, building a practice with more than 130 client groups. Dare holds a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. Dare participated in The Broad Residency in Urban Education Cohort 2004, serving her two-year Residency in the New York City Department of Education.
